Requests to Be Excused

Our court’s jury plan provides certain excuse, disqualification and exemption categories for participants at each step of the jury process. We also have procedures in place that allow you to request to be excused for reasons that don’t fit into one of the specified categories, or to ask to have your jury service partially excused or deferred to a different term. Note that many of the request categories require further verification and, in many cases, the court cannot excuse you until you provide the required documentation.

Because each situation is different and the documentation requirements vary, we ask that you contact the Jury Section before submitting a request. By no means should you assume you are excused until you have been notified by the Jury Section that your excuse, deferral or partial excuse request has been granted.
