Beginning on Monday, August 24, 2015, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit will launch a new procedure for attorneys to obtain the eROA (electronic record on appeal). The District Court will grant access and send a notice to counsel of record in each individual case.
After notification, attorneys who have been granted access will locate the eROA on the Fifth Circuit's CMECF user interface on the Fifth Circuit's website, www.ca5.uscourts.gov, where they will be able to download all public documents in the eROA and the Presentence Investigation Report for their clients in criminal cases. The Judicial Conference Advisory Committees on Bankruptcy and Evidence Rules have proposed amendments to their respective rules, and requested that the proposals be circulated to the bench, bar, and public for comment.
The following proposed amendments were approved for publication by the Judicial Conference Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure in January and May 2015.
