The seven year term of the Honorable Sarah S. Vance as Chief Judge for the Eastern District of Louisiana concluded yesterday, September 30, 2015.
As of today, October 1, 2015, the Honorable Kurt D. Engelhardt begins his seven year term as the new Chief Judge for the Eastern District.

Beginning on Monday, August 24, 2015, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit will launch a new procedure for attorneys to obtain the eROA (electronic record on appeal). The District Court will grant access and send a notice to counsel of record in each individual case.
After notification, attorneys who have been granted access will locate the eROA on the Fifth Circuit's CMECF user interface on the Fifth Circuit's website, www.ca5.uscourts.gov, where they will be able to download all public documents in the eROA and the Presentence Investigation Report for their clients in criminal cases. Instructions for the download process are located at: www.ca5.uscourts.gov/attorneys/attorney-forms/eroa_downloads .
